Chapter one:
She has heard a whisper say,
A curse is on her if she stay
And moving thro' a mirror clear
That hangs before her all the year,
Shadows of the world appear.

Hey whats up?
I have no idea...... nothing much? I've almost gotten run over 4 times in the last 20 minutes.
Ummmm........why?
Why? Because apparently that's what happens when you sit in the middle of a two lane road.
Your What?
I just told you.... I'm sitting in the middle of the road.
What the FRIK! Why are you doing that?
LANGUAGE! What would your mother say?
She's dead.
Oh! Sorry! I forgot!
Whatever. Back to the point...
Fine. I just wanted to know how many people would almost hit me.
You idiot! It only takes one to hit and kill you
That's a Pro not a Con.
Go back home, I'll come pick you up.
Fine. Do that. Its not like I can make my own decisions.
Apparently not, if your sitting in the middle of the road.
You know I was being sarcastic, right?
Yep, I just didn't care. See ya in about 5 minutes.
Whatever Jilluet. Whatever.
She hung up the phone. She wasn't surprised. This was a normal thing for Kara. She did this crap all the time. Just because she wasn't surprised, didn't mean that it didn't scare the bejeezus out of her.
That was because at this rate, she wont be here one of these days. She won't be at home. She won't be at school. Not at the arcade, that's for sure. She just wont be there. She'd be gone. And once Kara's gone, she'll be gone too.
There was currently no future in sight for either of them.
Jill sighed. Grabbed her keys and ran out to her crappy car. She started it up, and turned the radio on in the car that she sometimes lived in. That increased ever since her stepmother got her new boyfriend (No honey! This one's different! He won't hurt you! He's the one! Don't ruin it for me!Please!) It was the 13th one since her dad died. She was surprised that the lady didn't throw her out. After all she wasn't her kid. Just her third husbands second daughter.
They were messed up. That's the only thing she could say.
She turned on the radio, and a happy-go-lucky song started playing. After a few moments, she had had enough, and it just made her pissed. Needless to say, the radio was turned off. She turned down Ashlin road, and the transition from pavement to gravel made her car shudder. She ignored it, it happened every time. Now was when she had to pay attention, 'cause if she wasn't looking then she would totally miss the turn she needed to make.
There!
She had almost driven right past it even though she'd gone this way thousands of times before. She spun the wheel and the rusty frame whipped into the dirt road. The damn thing almost gave out again.
She cruised for about a minute, then she saw the familiar shack come into view. Kara was waiting in front of it.
“Thank god she got out of the road” Jilluet muttered in a dark tone.
She stopped the car and Kara came around the car and opened the passenger side door. “So this piece 'o' crap car is still alive?”
“Apparently so, otherwise I'd probably still be on the bus trying to convince them that this is not an imaginary road.” Jilluet was very sensitive about the car that had saved her life from more than one drunken boyfriend” said Jilluet
“Screw you” said Kara
“Eeeww Kara, I didn't know you were like that!” Jilluet squealed
“Whatever!” was the reply just as, a man came stumbling out of the shack that had been Kara's home all her life, waving a beer bottle and yelling.
HEY KARA! The voice calling out had a certain menacing tone to it
“Drive. Now.” Kara urged. Jilluet started the engine and pressed on the gas. Something hit the car and shattered. The man had thrown his beer at the car and was already grabbing more ammo.
He didn't get the chance to throw anything else though, because by the time he was ready to throw the crap he grabbed, they were speeding down the tiny dirt road away from the shack and Kara's father.
One thing was for sure, Kara wouldn't be going home anytime soon.
